Before After Artist Gail Astbury painted a 14 metre length of wall at Duncombe school, with scenes from paintings by Stanley Spencer and included ceramic birds by the schoolchildren, musical instruments and bird feeders. Gail Astbury has re-presented some of Stanley Spencer’s best loved works including the Resurrection of the Dead representing instead of the parishioners of Spencer’s home village of Cookham in Berkshire, the staff of the school arising from their graves.
